The Pacific Crest Trail
2,650 mile Adventure in 134 days
Follow the adventure of Ben & Billy tackling the Pacific Crest
Trail spanning from Mexico to Canada. The Pacific Crest Trail took 4.5
months to hike through California,
Oregon and Washington from May 15, 2006 to September 25, 2006.
The Pacific Crest Trail is the sister to the Appalachain
Trail and
the second of the Triple Crown (Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest
Trail, Continental
Divide Trail). Both the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail were
recognized as National Scenic Trails in 1968. The Pacific Crest Trail was
officially completed in 1993.
The distance between Mexico and Canada only being 1,000 miles seems
short in comparison to the Pacific Crest Trail stretching two and
a half times
that. Switchbacks, desert, snow, and fire take the Pacific Crest Trail
journal deep into our daily trail life- from Ben's relentless bickering
remarks to the picturesque
snow-capped
mountaintops we got lost trekking over. An enticing trail, the Pacific Crest Trail is not to be missed.
See the Tips & Tricks used to Thru Hike the Pacific Crest Trail. With only One Food Drop Box, we thru hiked the Pacific Crest Trail. We want to help those that follow; and let others know how we accomplished our thru hike. Food is a major undertaking for most thru hikers, but it does not need to be! You can hike the Pacific Crest Trail without any Food Drops, and with little trouble.
We laid it out for you in a neat little table: Miles, Days to Hike section, Where we bought our Food, What we bought for Food, and How we would go about our Food Resupply on the next thru hike.
